In Strasbourg, PNU, along with the top universities of Ukraine and Europe, defined a collaboration algorithm.

 

 

Under the auspices of the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ms. Eva Kopach, a landmark meeting was held on March 13 involving leaders of Ukrainian and European universities, representatives of the European Parliament, and the European Commission at the University of Strasbourg, France.

Vasyl Stefanyk Prycarpathian National University was represented by Serhiy Sharyn, Vice-Rector of Education. The organizer of the event was Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, RP).

Delegates from various higher education institutions in Ukraine were in attendance, including: Kherson State University; National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; I.I. Mechnikov Odesa National University; Ostroh Academy National University; Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University; Khmelnytskyi National University; Sumy State University; Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University; NU “Lviv Polytechnic”; Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University; N. Karazin Kharkiv National University; Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University; Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University; Vinnytsia National Technical University and University of Gdańsk (Republic of Poland).

The event, titled “European and Ukrainian University Strategic Partnership,” featured a meeting with Ms. Eva Kopach, Professor Michel Deneken of the University of Strasbourg and head of the EPICUR program, and Professor Bohumila Kanevska, rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Joining them online were Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Svitlana Shytikova, head of the national office of the Erasmus+ program.

Discussions centered on the cooperation between Ukrainian and European institutions in higher education and familiarization with the EPICUR European alliance’s projects and proposals, which include universities from nine European countries. Participants also reviewed best practices from other European university alliances.

The meeting’s attendees visited the European Parliament, where they proudly displayed the flag of Ukraine.

European Commission representatives shared their perspectives on collaboration with Ukrainian universities, aiming to create a sustainable ecosystem of cooperation among educational institutions, scientists, and students, involving the European Parliament and prominent universities from Ukraine and Europe.

This initiative marks a significant step for Prycarpathian University, opening avenues for development and further integration into the European educational framework.

Following the discussions, a joint statement was endorsed, affirming the ongoing collaboration between Ukrainian universities and their European counterparts in international projects, scientific research, and academic mobility.
