Implementation of the UNIVERSEH 2.0 project, implemented by the European Space University for Earth and Humanity (European Space University for Earth and Humanity) consortium, in which Vasyl Stefanyk Prycarpathian National University works together with the University of Toulouse (France), AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow ( Poland), University of Luxembourg, University of Dusseldorf (Germany), Lulea University of Technology (Sweden).
Throughout the year, students of our university will have the opportunity to take part in conferences, meetings, forums and schools connected by the “space” theme.
In particular, students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics Lyubov Babinchuk and Yuliya Lazarovych participated in the Arctic Winter School at the Institute of Space Physics (Kiruna, Sweden) from February 26 to March 1.
The event included a course of multidisciplinary lectures and seminars, which discussed the physics of the atmosphere and solar-terrestrial interactions, climatology, space weather, the use of nanosatellites and aerial sounding to observe the subpolar regions of the Earth.
An important result of the school was the contacts and competences necessary to involve students of our university in further activities with the formation of working groups to solve complex problems of climate change, effective use of natural resources, and ensuring sustainable regional development in accordance with EU goals.
The strategy developed by the European Commission envisages the use of educational, scientific, technical and innovative components for the possibility of obtaining new products and services related to the “space” sector of the economy.
In this context, the activities of the UNIVERSEH 2.0 project are aimed, first of all, at the purposeful formation of an international team of specialists who will be able to jointly solve practical tasks important for Europe and Ukraine as part of it in the near future.
